The BODYSTAT QuadScan 4000 is a research grade, portable, battery operated unit measuring at four-frequencies between 5kHz and 200kHz. By measuring the impedance and applying the unique BODYSTAT® equations, Body Fat, Lean Mass and Dry Lean Mass can be assessed. In addition the QuadScan 4000 measures cellular fluid values and provides indicators for cellular health.
The QuadScan 4000 contains separate and unique Body Composition equations for children 6 years and over, adults, seniors and professional athletes. Since BIA technique is non-invasive and hazard-free, repeated studies can be performed to monitor nutritional status over time and to trace the effects of nutritional and medical interventions. This has opened up the opportunity for many new areas of medical and clinical assessment.
This technique is used to professionally measure body fat, lean muscle mass, water content, metabolic rates and BMI. It will also calculate caloric requirements and BMR. Sequential measurements by the unit can pick up subtle changes in body composition even when there is no change in total body weight.
